5 Ways to Grow in Your Faith and Relationship with the Lord Jesus in August
As we enter August, it’s the perfect time to renew our commitment to growing in faith and deepening our relationship with the Lord Jesus. The world constantly pulls at our attention, but as Daughters of the King, we must be intentional about drawing closer to Him.
Here are five practical ways to strengthen your faith and walk with the Lord this month:
1. Commit to Daily Bible Reading
The Word of God is our spiritual nourishment. Just as our bodies need food, our souls need Scripture to remain strong and grounded.
Make it a goal to read at least one chapter daily or follow a Bible reading plan. Take time to meditate on the Word and invite the Holy Spirit to give you understanding and revelation.
A great place to start is the Gospel of John or the Psalms for encouragement and renewal.
2. Strengthen Your Prayer Life
Prayer is how we communicate with our Heavenly Father. Set aside intentional time each day to talk with God—not only to make requests, but to thank Him, seek His guidance, and pour out your heart.
If consistency is a challenge, consider journaling your prayers or setting daily reminders.
Jesus often withdrew to pray, and as His followers, we are called to do the same.
3. Offer Thanksgiving, Praise, and Worship
Scripture reminds us of the power of praise:
Hebrews 13:15 calls us to offer a sacrifice of praise continually
Psalm 100:4 encourages us to enter His gates with thanksgiving and praise
Psalm 22:3 reveals that God inhabits the praises of His people.
Make worship a daily practice—whether through singing, lifting your hands, or speaking words of gratitude.
Play worship music, meditate on His goodness, and cultivate a heart of thanksgiving. When we praise, we invite His presence into our lives, which strengthens our faith and deepens our relationship with Him.
4. Surround Yourself with Faith-Building Community
We were never meant to walk this journey alone. Surround yourself with other believers who will encourage and strengthen your faith.
Join a Bible study, attend church consistently, or connect with an accountability partner.
As Proverbs 27:17 reminds us, “Iron sharpens iron,” and godly relationships help refine and strengthen our walk with Christ.
5. Step Out in Faith and Obedience
Faith requires action. James 2:26 reminds us that faith without works is dead.
Ask the Lord to reveal areas where He is calling you to step out in obedience. This may look like sharing your faith, serving others, or extending forgiveness.
When we obey God, our faith grows, and we experience His power in deeper ways.
A Call to Action: Walk in Faith This August
This month, challenge yourself to deepen your relationship with the Lord intentionally. Choose one or more of these steps and commit to growing in your faith daily.
As Jeremiah 29:13 reminds us, “You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”
Let’s grow together as Daughters of the King—walking in faith, truth, and relationship with Him.
